That sounds like a great trip. There’s so much to see in Nashville that you could probably spend a whole week and not see everything. Although a lot depends on how quickly you move and how leisurely you want to be, three days in Nashville would give you a good taste of the best of the city.

We’re hoping to visit Nashville later this year on a US road trip and your post has made for great reading. You had me at fried chicken!

As property people we love heritage buildings and to see so many adapted for new uses has really given us a thrill. Can’t wait to visit them all and then relax in the evening with some music.

Nashville is well-known for its street art murals. Check out East Nashville, the Gulch, and Germantown neighborhoods for art and shopping. I’m not familiar with 18+ clubs.

We enjoyed our Sunday morning going to Whiskey Bent from 10-noon listening to songwriters perform in Hidden Nashville. Great personal stories behind the music in Nashville.

I am traveling in July with my Dad and children. He is looking forward to the Grand Ol’ Opry and Johnny Cash’s house. Any other suggestions for someone who loves old, traditional country music? Places to eat and listen to that kind of county?

Thanks for the suggestions! We enjoyed Printers Alley and also checked out Tootsies, but it was insane during our visit.

I agree that Roberts is one of the locals favorites but I recommend visiting a few Honky Tonks! A few of my favorites are Legends Corner, Tootsies, and Printers Alley of course. There are so many new bars that have opened recently with rooftop bars. I enjoy Alan Jackson’s AJs, Derks Bentley, and Florida Georgia Line. The Wildhorse Saloon is great if you have younger people in your group. Most of them allow minors until 6:00pm but Wildhorse the limit is 10:30. My girls loved going downtown in the afternoon dancing and listening to music. If you’re in the market for boots check out French’s on 2nd Avenue. Make sure you look downstairs on the “rack”. They have store samples and overstocks at reduced prices.

We loved it there, too. Lots of fun, down-to-earth people 🙂
