An unassuming, sand-colored building in the historic center of Vilnius, Lithuania, holds one of the best hotels in the city, the Stikliai hotel. From the outside, the only thing that gives any indication of its 5-star interior is the mural above the front door. Glassblowers practicing their craft in this brilliantly-colored artwork were the original occupants of this building in the 16th century.
On the inside, the building feels more like a home than a hotel. Plush chairs and couches are just about everywhere you look as the bar spills into a sitting area and runs into the game room, complete with a pool table. Fireplaces and accent pieces complete the feel that staying at the Stikliai hotel is like being in someone’s (very upscale, well-serviced) French country home.
